Three Bathroom Renovation Ideas That Will Not Date

For a trendy, modern bathroom that doesn’t date, look to these three tips.

1. Colour
Colour schemes such as white on white, monochromatic greys and creams hold their age brilliantly. These colour palates can also be personalised with textures and styling.

2. Style
When you’re looking at textures and finishes, look to simple and sleek or dive into a period style bathroom(*2).

3. Décor
Décor is much easier to change than tiling, paint and cabinetry. If you want to keep your bathroom on-trend, update linens, ceramics, painting and floor coverings without having to do a full remodel.

Before, During and After of a Stunning Bathroom Renovation

A bathroom we recently transformed had blue mosaic tiles, cold white paint, broken, chipped architraves and imposing cabinetry. It was anything but a reflection of the owners of the house.

We were working with a modern couple with a love for architecture and a wish for their bathroom to be a sanctuary.

Our contractors removed all old cabinetry, the shower base, tiling and more to leave a clean canvas for us to remodel the bathroom. Our designers worked with the homeowners to create a dramatic transformation they would love and cherish for years to come.

Each element of this bathroom ties together seamlessly to create a functional and aesthetically pleasing space. It is earthy yet industrial, modern and timeless. Most importantly, it is a place to relax, unwind and be at ease after a busy day.

What was Used in this Bathroom Renovation?

Here are a few of the features that combined to make this bathroom such a statement bathroom while also being a relaxing space that reflected the homeowners.

1. Large slate grey tiles, and cream marble floor tiles.
• Large tiles make small areas feel more spacious(*3). Tiling from the floor to the ceiling creates a sense of space.

2. Invisible drain.
• Invisible (or linear) drains work as effectively as traditional centre shower drains.
• They minimise the need for unsightly tile cuts.
• They streamline the bathroom area and open up space.

3. Black tapware.
• Black tapware is available for wall and basin mounting making it an all-round design choice for every tap fitting in the bathroom.

4. Concrete look bathtub.
• When designing a small space, focussing the eye on one distinguishing feature helps to create the illusion of spaciousness. For a bathroom, there is no better statement piece than a bathtub.

5. Frameless shower screen.
• Frameless shower screens are smart choices and are ideal for small spaces because they don’t divide the bathroom space, and they are easy to clean.
• Natural coloured wood.
• Mixing up textures appeals to the eye. Natural wood brings the outside in to make interiors feel fresh and warm.

6. Square above counter basin.
• This above counter basin perfectly complements the bathtub and slate grey tiles.
